Professional Resume
Schools of Interest In no particular order: University of Pittsburgh (and Pitt Greensburg), Ringling College of Art and Design, Savannah College of Art and Design, Pennsylvania State University, Saint Vincent College, Seton Hill University, Pratt Institute, Maryland Institute College of Art, etc. Intended areas of study Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Art History (possibly studio art also as a background for art therapy). Future career goals These currently entail working in a hospital or behavioral program with children and/or adult patients to improve their upper body strength, coordination, balance/mobility and activities of daily living following an injury, surgery, illness, or during mental recovery. This is the most interesting career path to me right now because of how personal it is to myself. I’ve always loved working with people, and this kind of therapy has helped me very much in the past. I believe that studying psychology and occupational therapy will be an invaluable experience, and this is what I plan on doing with my life as a freshman in college. Personal Skills Because I have moved several times with my family due to job relocation, I have learned great adaptability skills, that I believe will help me immensely in college. With that being said, I am an extrovert, and I love working with all types of people! Although I have stumbled in the past, I know how drastically I have improved over the years, and I only intend to get better. Extracurricular Activities I am an active member of a club at my school called Interact, which is a vessel for the student body to communicate and advance, keeping us all in touch. Through this club I have been able to meet new students and help them acclimate to their new environment like I have learned to do over the years. It has been such a valuable experience, and I am honored to still be a part of it and continue to make friends. Job Experience I currently hold a waitressing job at Elegant Tents & Catering in Youngwood, PA. By doing this, I am learning to work with and serve people from all walks of life, and I very much enjoy my time there! This job has helped me mature immeasurably, from making a consistent time commitment, to opening my own bank account. I plan to keep this job seasonally as they need me, and continue to develop my people skills. Enriching Experiences The summer entering my junior year, I was chosen by a faculty member at my school to participate in a week long enrichment program called Outdoor Odyssey. During this leadership camp, I learned a myriad of initiative skills that will aid me all my life. This program teaches its participants the value of team building through adversity, and how nothing will come easy to us in the future. I was able to bring other kids out of their shell more and more throughout the week, and collaborate with them through a plethora of group activities. This camp taught me the importance of perseverance, resilience, and motivation, and I plan to use this amazing experience as a major advantage in the future. Motivation I have always known that I am college bound, not only because I require it to accomplish what I’d like to do in the future, but because I truly believe that this is the path for me. I very much appreciate anyone who critiques my artwork, or has any words of wisdom/ experience, regarding my future goals. There is nothing else I would love more than to be afforded this inestimable college experience. *DISCLAIMER* Many of the pieces I have created thus far have been modeled after works of art that I've seen on the internet. I do not take sole credit for any such pieces. However, all of the works posted on my gallery were created by me. I am working on taking my own original photos, and creating from those instead, but in the meantime, this is what I have completed in the past year or two. |
